Thank you to everyone across the U.S. who took part in our National Week of Action to End Child Detention!

On Father's Day, June 16, hundreds of people marched to Homestead detention center. And in recent months, tens of thousands of people have signed our petition urging the federal government to close down the facility.

Right now, more than 3,000 child migrants are being held at the detention center, and that number will continue to grow. Most of these children have fled violence and poverty in Central America and are seeking asylum. But instead of being released to their sponsors, many will spend weeks or months in detention – with lasting traumatic effects.

Join AFSC, partner organizations, community members, and many others to shut down Homestead detention center! Contact Congress today, and sign up for more ways to take action.
